The PTA wouldn’t have been able to achieve the success we had during 2016 without the support of a number of families who donated products for our events and local businesses who either advertised in our local directory, donated goods or services as prizes or sponsored our events.  Special mention to Marie Raos who was the key day sponsor of our Golf Fundraiser and the many other hole sponsors who helped us achieve our goal of raising over $10,000 for this event.

2016 - Raising $60,000 - Thank you!

Wow, what a year 2016 was for the PTA!!   As a community we raised more than double the amount that we normally raise in a year!

The PTA with the support of the school community raised a whopping $60,000!  These funds went towards stage 2 of the Senior Courtyard transformation.  With the PTA’s contribution at the end of 2015 and 2016 funds we gave a total of $130,000 towards this project which had an overall cost of $340,000.  The PTA is proud to have worked in partnership with the Board of Trustees to see this project through, it is exciting to now have an all year round learning hub for our students.

Thank you to 'YOU' our wonderful school community, parents and students, the dedicated staff, Board of Trustees and a number of businesses who have supported our fundraising efforts throughout 2016.

Thank you to the fabulous members of our PTA committee for all their additional hard work and efforts, because of these generous and active parents there is a continued strong PTA presence within our school. This amazing group of parents volunteer their time to provide fun events for our children and our community.  Thank you to the many friends of the PTA and parent helpers that support our events, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without your support.

In 2016 the PTA held many successful events; including the Family Picnic, Black and White Disco, Mother’s Day Table, Father’s Day Breakfast, mufti days and sausage sizzles. Also we held a number of first ever events these included: I Spy Flags of the World, Huff ‘n Puff, raffles and the Golf fundraiser.  Not only did these new events raise an additional $33,000 towards our fundraising efforts but they also enhanced our children’s learning, health and well being.

On top of all our fundraising your generosity was overwhelming with your support for the “Kids caring for Kids” mufti day in November - raising $1450 for Waiau Schools new pool after the earthquakes.  Thank you Mrs Trembath and Room 20 for approaching the PTA about how you wanted to support others in need.

The PTA wouldn’t have been able to achieve the success we had without the support of a number of families who donated products for our events and local businesses who either advertised in our local directory, donated goods or services as prizes or sponsored our events.  Special mention to Marie Raos who was the key day sponsor of our Golf Fundraiser and the many other hole sponsors who helped us achieve our goal of raising over $10,000 for this event.  Following will be a post of our supporters and sponsors, so please check this out and support these businesses who have supported us.

PTA Picnic and Meet the Teacher Evening - 9th February - 5.30 pm to 7.45 pm

SUNNYHILLS SCHOOL PTA
"Family Picnic and Meet the Teacher Evening"

Date:  Thursday 9th February 2017
Time:  5.30pm – 7.45pm
Bring:  Coins for sausage sizzle, drinks, ice creams or your own picnic dinner
Classroom Orientations: Start at 6.00pm

Hello again to all Sunnyhills School families!

Our Family Picnic / Meet the Teacher Evening is going to be a wonderful event and we look forward to seeing you there on Thursday 9th February.  This is a great opportunity for you to meet all of our wonderful teachers (and for them to meet you) and for you to meet up with old friends and make new ones too.

The teachers would like to take the opportunity, as they did last year, to let the parents/caregivers of the students in their class know about aspects the class programme. They will also cover routines and expectations appropriate to the year level.  These short (approximately 15-20 minutes) information sessions will be staggered across the evening to allow for attendance at more than one if required. This is not a one on one interview situation. Home/School partnership discussions regarding individual students will take place in Week 3.

Classroom orientation information - Please make your way to your children's class at the following times:

Senior School classes at 6pm
Junior School at 6.30pm
Middle School at 7pm.

During this time, teachers from the syndicates not involved will be in the playground supervising the Sunnyhills children from all syndicates.  For health and safety reasons, we ask that you take pre-schoolers with you or organise cover for them with a friend.  If the picnic is cancelled due to bad weather, the information sessions will still take place for adults only, at the times indicated above.

We ask that children do not use their bikes or scooters at the picnic to avoid accidents when there are so many little ones around.

PTA members will be easy to identify, so please introduce yourselves to us – we look forward to meeting you on Thursday evening.

If you are able to help over the course of the evening with cooking or serving please complete the following form by clicking on the following link - https://goo.gl/forms/L7VNnKR0Uw9K3XOq2

See you at the picnic!
